Our new ice cream range is part of another Great Family Story at the Great British Car Journey
We are firmly fixated on family cars and the magical memories that they unlock from the past. so we are very pleased to announce that for the 2025 Summer season, we will be selling Bluebells’ lovingly crafted artisan ice cream which is produced by the Brown family on their farm near Spondon near Derby.
The Browns have been there since 1953 when the Morris Minor would have been in its heyday and the Mini was still some six years from launch. Of course, we all remember the long, hot Summers of our childhood and the associated long, hot journeys to the coast in cars where everything from the engine to the vinyl seats gave off a distinctive odour-laden heat. However, there was usually a promise of an ice cream which would inevitably melt quite quickly adding another distinctive aroma to the car interior!
We will be selling both cones and tubs. Stock has been delivered and training put in place so next time you Drive Dads Car or visit Great British Car Journey, be sure to try our new ice cream range made from milk produced by a free range herd grazing in the lush Derbyshire countryside (just like our MD Ian pictured below)
On Sunny days Bluebells creamy flavours will be available from a servery near the museum entrance as well as in The Filling Station Café .
Initially we will have the following flavours but always happy to get your feedback on our rangeÂ
- Double Cream Vanilla
- Devilishly ChocolateÂ
- Mint Choc Chip
- Tiramisu
- Salted Caramel & Butterscotch
- Strawberries & Cream
