Kids Pitstop Activities
Need to refuel before continuing your adventure? Our brand-new Kids Pitstop, located inside the Filling Station Café, is the perfect place for children to take a well-earned break during their visit. The dedicated play area is packed with activities including puzzles, colouring, building blocks, magnetic construction toys, letter games and Xbox racing games. It’s a welcoming space where children can play, create and recharge while parents enjoy a well-deserved coffee before heading back out to explore more!

Interactive Guides
Our recently updated interactive guide makes exploring the museum even more exciting, with new stories, activities and discoveries waiting around every corner. Designed especially with younger visitors in mind, the children’s trail keeps little explorers engaged as they make their way through the museum. Along the way, they’ll tackle quizzes, solve puzzles, build their own cars, uncover fascinating stories, and enjoy plenty of hands-on activities that bring Britain’s motoring history to life.

Number Plate Hunt
During the school holidays, younger visitors can take part in our popular Number Plate Hunt – a fun interactive challenge that sends children searching around the museum looking for clues. It’s a great way for kids to explore the exhibits, uncover fascinating cars and stories, and solve clues along the way. Every participant who completes the trail goes into the draw to receive a prize, making it the perfect adventure for budding detectives and future motoring enthusiasts alike.

Mini Land Rover Adventure
Let your little adventurers take the wheel with our exciting Mini Land Rover Adventure! This unforgettable experience gives young explorers the chance to drive their very own electric Mini Land Rover around a specially designed course.
Officially licensed by Jaguar Land Rover, these scaled-down versions of the iconic vehicle are perfectly suited to children aged 4–11, offering a safe, fun and confidence-boosting driving experience. It’s the perfect way for youngsters to enjoy a taste of motoring while creating memories they’ll be talking about long after their visit.

Hot Wheels Riverside Raceway
Ready… set… race! Our outdoor Hot Wheels Riverside Raceway is the perfect place for little racers to put their skills to the test and enjoy some friendly family competition.
Race your favourite Hot Wheels cars around our exciting riverside track, complete with twists, turns and plenty of high-speed action. This additional ticket includes access to the Riverside Raceway, plus two Hot Wheels cars to take home, so the racing fun can continue long after your visit to the museum. It’s the ultimate extra for budding racing drivers and Hot Wheels fans of all ages.

Give young motoring enthusiasts the chance to experience Britain’s automotive history from the passenger seat with an unforgettable ride in one of our iconic classic cars.
Perfect for children and teenagers under 16 who no longer require a booster seat, these memorable passenger rides let youngsters experience the sights, sounds and character of some of Britain’s most loved classic vehicles.
All classic car rides must be pre-booked, so we recommend reserving your experience before your visit to avoid disappointment.

Junior Driving Experiences
Give young car lovers the unforgettable experience of driving a classic Mini before they’re even old enough to apply for a driving licence. Children can take the wheel of an automatic Mini alongside a fully qualified, CRB-checked instructor with dual controls, driving within a safe, fenced-off area of our private road network.
Participants must be a minimum of 4ft 8in tall (to be able to reach the pedals!). Purchase a voucher and choose from one of our special Junior Drive Days – with free museum admission included for every young driver.
