Our Filling Station Café welcomes everyone, no museum entry ticket required, and makes a great pitstop for a visit to the Peak District! Please note that our kitchen stops serving hot meals after 2:00 pm, but a variety of sandwiches, cakes, and drinks are available until 4:00 pm.

Car clubs, organisations, groups, and coaches are warmly welcome throughout the year. We can also arrange extended opening hours to accommodate your event or visit if needed. For more information, please see our Groups & Corporate Events page.

Please remember our online merchandise shop is open 24/7 throughout the year: www.greatbritishcarjourney.com/buy-merchandise

Choosing the best day for your visit

There’s always plenty happening at the Great British Car Journey every day of the week, but if you’re wondering which day is best for your visit, the information below may help you decide.

If you’d like to get behind the wheel during your visit, it’s best to avoid Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and make sure you come on a day when Drive Dads Car is running.

If you’re hoping to see extra cars in the car park, plan your visit for one of our event days.
