Thank You to All Our Visiting Groups This August!
One of the things that makes Great British Car Journey so special is the wonderful variety of visitors who come through our doors – from coach parties enjoying a day out to passionate car clubs arriving in style. This August has been no exception, and we’d like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all the groups who joined us over the last few weeks.
Welcoming Our Non-Car Groups
We always love welcoming visitors who come as part of organised day trips, and this month we’ve had some fantastic groups spend the day with us:
Wednesday 27th & 17th August – Albatross Travel
Two brilliant visits from Albatross Travel brought coachloads of enthusiasts to discover the history of the British motor industry. Their energy and interest made both days a real pleasure.Friday 8th August – Baptist Church
It was wonderful to host members of the Baptist Church, who enjoyed exploring our museum and hearing the many stories behind Britain’s most iconic cars.Thursday 7th August – John Toplis Probus
The John Toplis Probus group had a fantastic time stepping back in time with us, sparking plenty of memories and conversation as they made their way through the collection.Monday 4th August – Sidney Cook Probus
Another friendly Probus group, Sidney Cook members brought plenty of enthusiasm and nostalgia to their visit – and more than a few tales of cars they once owned!
We’re always delighted to welcome coach trips and local groups. It’s amazing to see how cars have touched so many lives, and our collection really comes alive when visitors share their own stories.
Car Clubs in the Spotlight
Of course, August also brought some very special days when car clubs rolled in to make our car park every bit as exciting as the museum itself:
Saturday 2nd August – VP Owners Club Visit
The VP OC brought a fine selection of cars, turning heads before they even entered the museum. A fantastic day of classic appreciation.Sunday 3rd August – Yorkshire MG Club
Our friends from Yorkshire arrived in true style, with a line-up of MGs that looked absolutely superb against the Derbyshire backdrop.Sunday 10th August – Vespa Club (100+ Scooters!)
What a sight – over 100 scooters buzzing into our site! The Vespa Club created an incredible atmosphere, filling the day with colour, sound, and smiles.Sunday 17th August – Rover P6 National Club
The P6s always draw attention, and this gathering of the Rover P6 National Club was no different. A fantastic day celebrating one of Britain’s finest saloons.Monday 25th August – Mini Throttles Club
The little cars with the big personalities! The Mini Throttles Club lit up the end of the month with a wonderful collection of Minis, proving why these cars remain a true national treasure.
