Our Riverside Raceway is now ready for action
We’ve gone all out and created what we believe is the longest Hot Wheels track in the Midlands. It’s over 100 feet long, banked for speed, and designed for side-by-side racing with classic orange track and full gravity-powered thrills. And now, we’re officially inviting you to come and race on it.
The Riverside Raceway is real, hands-on racing and for just £10 you get to pick your 2 free cars and get unlimited time on the track. Perfect for adults & children to enjoy together it is fast, competitive and very addictive.
You’ll find the Riverside Raceway right outside the main entrance to the museum. It’s in the perfect spot beside the picnic area and our ever-popular Mini Land Rover Experience, with the River Derwent flowing gently behind it. It’s an ideal location to relax, race a few cars, and enjoy the surroundings.
The Raceway is open to everyone. You don’t need a museum ticket to take part. Just book in at reception when you arrive and the adventure begins. Our cafe is also available to non museum visitors and if you decide you’d like to explore the museum later, we’ll give you 10 percent off museum admission when you’ve raced.
To celebrate the opening of the Raceway, we’re holding an official launch event on Sunday 13th July. It’s going to be all about speed.
On the day, we’ll be running a live leaderboard challenge where every racer gets the chance to record a timed run. The fastest car of the day will take the top spot and win a special prize.
There’ll be plenty else going on during the day too. A great atmosphere, ice creams, food, drinks, Mini Land Rovers, woodland walks and of course, hundreds of small cars hurtling down plastic track in all directions.
