1949 Morris Minor Art Poster

£16.95£36.95

Clear

There is still an air of austerity about this cover from June 24th 1949 advertising Alec Issigonis’ first masterpiece: The Morris Minor. Although the increasingly grumpy Lord Nuffield did not like the car, more than 1.7 million would roll out of Cowley before production ended in 1971. This rather low key illustration has none of the colour and optimism of the 1960s – the car is the same rather bland green of the Autocar logo and even the four people around the car look somewhat underwhelmed.
