The American firm has been here so long that it’s as British as a game of cricket, and at last Britain is recovering its vitality and colour, and rationing has almost become a thing of the past. Reinforcing this point, the company proudly displays the Royal Warrant granted by the late King George VI, although he seemed to prefer something a bit grander when he was being driven around London.
