At last the war is over and the Nuffield organisation celebrates with its four brands pointing their headlights to the sky in a peaceful illustration mimicing the searchlights that were a feature of the night sky during the war. Rationing and austerity would be the order of the day for many more years, but the Nazi threat had been defeated and Britain’s car factories could once more make cars not weapons of war. Of the four brands on the cover, only MG survived into the 21st century.
