This cover from August 26th 1927 celebrates the Bentley victory at Le Mans when “Benjy” Benjafield and “Sammy” Davis won the race despite being involved in an eight car accident at the “Maison Blanche” corner. Substantial repairs were carried out in the pits and the drivers ‘carried on’ to victory in a car that was far from at its best. Bentleys driven by the “Bentley Boys” won the race again in 1928, 1929 and 1930, cementing Bentley’s reputation for building world class cars.
