The Doubly Thankful Tour

Join us for Drive it Day 2024 on Sunday 21st April.

In aid of NSPCC Childline we have arranged a scenic tour, starting and ending at Great British Car Journey, travelling through picturesque Derbyshire villages with beautiful views of Carsington Waters. Travelling through the Doubly Thankful village of Bradbourne and stopping for refreshments in Tissington. The tour is approximately 46-miles in length taking in our wonderful Peak District landscape, and we’d love you to join us.

The cost to take part is £25 per vehicle which includes a £10 donation to NSPCC’s Childline© (we will also donate an additional £5), tour plaque, route map showing all junctions and places of interest, and one hot drink in the Great British Car Journey’s Filling Station Cafe. Payment will be taken on the day at sign in.

Our Drive it Day event is open to all Great British Car Club members and all groups affiliated with the Motor Sports Association (due to insurance purposes). The event is covered by an MSA UK permit exemption paid for by the Great British Car Club.

Please do spread the word to anyone else who may be interested. To book your place, please email your full name, car model and registration number, along with details of your relevant car club membership to Adrian Dale on: adrian@greatbritishcarjourney.com

Alternatively, not interested in taking part in the drive but love your classic cars then do still join us on the day as we have a number of car clubs booked in as part of their celebrations, so there will be plenty to see in the car park!

For those arriving in classic cars, entry to the attraction and its amenities will be available at just £10 (discounted from the standard £18.50 on the day). Moreover, in addition to the proceeds generated by the drive, we’ll be making an extra donation to ChildLine—a cause close to our hearts.

Come and be a part of the camaraderie this National Drive It Day at Great British Car Journey. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to celebrate classic cars while supporting a worthy cause!

Drive It Day has been organised since 2005 by The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC). In this time FBHVC has helped raise thousands of pounds for NSPCC. Last year £47,000 was raised – enough to run the Childline© service for one day.
