If you are looking for a car museum with a difference, this is the place to go
If you are looking for a car museum with a difference, this is the place to go. It has a lot of cars that you'll recognise and may well have driven. A real trip down memory lane, I found the first car I owned, an Austin Alegro in the same colour I had. The cafe is great and there is plenty of seating. Staff are very helpful and informative. Check out the Dad's Drive where you can drive a number of cars they have in the museum. This I'll be doing on my next visit.

A great exhibition hall
An unexpectedly great day out in Derbyshire. A mystery treat for my husband which I found fun and interesting too. It was such a joy to walk around this large collection which is so well displayed in chronological order beginning with the very first British built petrol driven car through the 20th century. A large and superb collection housed in one place, My husband was really impressed and we enjoyed looking at the cars of yesteryear that we ourselves had owned in the past. The headphone commentary was particularly comprehensive with many fascinating facts from each decade. The cafe was large, serving meals, drinks and cakes. A very enjoyable experience I would recommend to old and young alike

Great Day Out
Absolutely brilliant, would highly recommend to anyone wanting a trip down memory lane and a great day out. The museum is well worth a look around prior to your drive, just to whet your appetite! All the staff were friendly and helpful and there’s a great cafe too..

A fantastic day out with my Grandson
A fantastic day out delighting both ends of the age spectrum - I was in my element loving all of the motoring classics of my youth and pre- youth whilst my Grandson's taste in cars was probably younger to be fair - I lost count of the number of favourite cars chosen that day by my Grandson, clearly he has very good and expensive taste !!! A great day out and I shall without doubt return

A lovey way to spend an afternoon
Beautiful vehicle collection and well set out with a free audio tour for each person that has lots of hidden extra info on the device you get to listen. Superb cafe! Lots of food choices as well as snacks and home cooked. Parking was easy and plentiful all on one level too so easily accessible. You can even have a drive in many of the vehicles for an extra charge. Perfect for petrol heads. Well worth a visit

Many of these cars are more ordinary models that visitors remember driving or owning
We visited in a weekday when the museum was not crowded. Staff are clearly bursting with enthusiasm and we met the founder, Richard, who gave us more insights about these automotive gems. Many of these cars are more ordinary models that visitors remember driving or owning. Models in danger of "going extinct" because they are considered unremarkable: Marinas, Victors, Avengers .... They are engaging for the same reason that classic rock performances are interesting: they formed part of our lives, or those of our ancestors. A spacious cafe with reasonable prices too. Well worth a visit, especially on a rainy day.

1st visit to this amazing museum.(I got tickets for Christmas)
I was very impressed with the whole set up. Audio guide easy to use , The cars were superb, took me right back to my early driving days in the seventies! a few on show I'd actually owned the same make and model. QR reader was brilliant giving more details on each of the cars. Of all the cars there i would have to say my favourite was the Austin 1300GT. We spent over 2 hours going round the cars. Even managed a bite to eat and a coffee in the cafe, which was very nice. I know that we will be making another visit .

My ten year old grandson found more than he had dreamed of
Easy to find, easy to park, great value, my ten year old grandson found more than he had dreamed of with a coffee and bacon cob half way through he left that day with a big smile along with knowledge of when Britain was Great Britain at making cars. I also managed my memory lane of cars I once owned and drove. Recomend highly..

An Outstanding Attraction
This is an excellent museum. The cars are not roped off so you can stand beside them and even put your head inside (through the open windows). Information about individual cars and the motor industry more generally is made available via a tablet with headphones so enjoyment of any particular exhibit is never interrupted by noise about another exhibit. There is a café which serves very nice “home cooked” food at competitive prices. There is also the Great British Car Club. This has numerous car-related events and even some non-car related activity. The cost of £39 is more or less recovered by the 25% discount you can have on the cost of driving the classics. You also get 10% off the bill in the café and free entry to the museum for the entire year. My suggestion is that you join the club and then buy a voucher for three drives when you visit the museum. This will mean that you will immediately have recouped virtually all the cost of club membership. Overall, I think this attraction is a great idea and have visited on 9 occasions..
