No mention of Austin or Morris on this cover from December 11th 1964. Of course the Mini took its first Monte Carlo Rally outright win in January ’64, and both the car and its driver (Paddy Hopkirk) became overnight media stars. From now on the Mini was just the Mini, although it would be a long time before Austin and Morris badges disappeared from the cars. Quite what the people on the cover are actually looking at is a bit of a puzzle?
