The lights in the water (sea?) may be soft and out of focus but the car itself is bathed in bright light and the interior is positively dazzling. It’s July 12th 1963 so this is presumably a late evening shot of a couple who have been out for dinner. The car does seem perilously close to the edge of the quay, which may be why the driver is somewhat behind his companion who is already on board.
