It had arrived! November 27th 1959 saw the Mini on the front cover, albeit badged as an Austin Seven. The cut-away drawing shows the brilliance of Issigonis’ packaging, although those are very small suitcases and there does seem some doubt as to whether the boot will close (hence the hinged number-plate). Bearing in mind that the last Austin Seven would now be 20 years old, the use of the Seven name demonstrates the long running confusion resulting from the BMC merger of Austin and Morris.
