Of course the Rootes brothers had become car makers by the time this cover appeared on May 26th 1933, and the Hillman Minx in many different forms was to become a staple family car for the next three decades. As you would expect from the biggest car retailers in the land, this Minx was great value at £159 and just the car to take to the coast on a Whitsun weekend. The beach scene is delightful, although the car’s passenger is happy to enjoy the comforts of the Hillman whilst he reads the paper.
