1928 Austin 7 Art Poster

Clear

By 1928 it was clear that the Austin Seven was a real success. This cover from July 20th 1928 shows how two car ownership was becoming more popular as women discovered the freedom of the open road in a car that was light and easy to drive. Clearly the big Austin is still for the husband to manhandle, but is that a golf club in the lady’s hand… surely they are not off to the club on their own? As ever, Rootes will happily supply Austins of any size and in Birmingham their George Heath Motors garage would be the place to go. The George Heath name survived in Birmingham well into the 21st Century but sadly is no more.
