Austin 1100 & 1300

At the same time as the first Concorde test flight was breaking the sound barrier Austin launched its 1300 GT at the London Motor Show in 1969. Badged as both Austin and Morris this was the sporty version of the ever popular Austin 1100 and 1300 

We have a couple of them in suitably flamboyant colours to showcase the first “hot hatches”. Based on the best selling Austin 1100 and 1300 there is also a Vanden Plas version at the museum

More than 2 million were sold before being replaced by the Austin Allegro in 1974
